1. God & man
I have come down from heaven (Jesus, John 6:42)
The historical figure of Jesus Christ is nothing less than controversial. To Christians, Christ is God, the creator of all things, eternal and beyond understanding; to Muslims Christ is a mere prophet; to atheists, nobody in particular; and to some, Christ never actually existed, but is a pure fiction. The present writer believes in the first assertion - that Christ is nothing less than God - an immortal, intelligent entity of infinite power, infinite ability and infinite existence. As such, the following chronology of the period in which Jesus Christ existed on planet Earth - a period of approximately 130 years - is based on descriptions in the Bible and other historical documents such as the Gnostic texts which members of the Catholic Church deemed unacceptable for inclusion in the former. It attempts to explain the various events as reported on, or held as beliefs in, the modern era. It therefore reveals situations and occurrences in the life of Jesus Christ as both God and man - two persons in one physical body, much as Christ is part of the Blessed Trinity and referred to by Christians as God the Father, God the Son (Logos) and God the Holy Spirit or Holy Ghost. At all times it should be remembered that these descriptions are purely earthly and human, and attempt to explain in a God for Dummies manner something which is, frankly, beyond human comprehension.
The descriptions presented herein are based on the historical facts and the interpreted beliefs of the writer. They will address the issue of consciousness (viz. God as Cosmic Consciousness) and help explain how and why the life of Jesus post-Resurrection in the Indian subcontinent is accepted by non-Christian religions, including Islam and Buddhism. There is an inherent dichotomy in reading the Gospels of the New Testament and the words of Jesus Christ, for the question arises: Who is speaking - man or God? It would be assumed by most Christians and the Church that it is God. But when Jesus cries out whilst being on the cross and near death: "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?" (Matthew 27:46) it is obviously Jesus Christ the man speaking, for how else can you explain the reference here to God outside of the first person? Hopefully the discussion and commentary below will assist the reader in differentiating between Jesus Christ as God, as man and as both.

2. Chronology
Information additional to that contained in this chronology is available at the following author blogs: Jesus in England, Jesus in India and Life of St Issa.
6BC - 4BC
* (Age: 0) Jesus Christ is born in Bethlehem circa 4BC. His mother Mary and father Joseph are members of the Jewish Essene sect. The birth is said to be a "virgin birth" in that God intervened to make Mary pregnant with a boy child and Joseph, as such, was not the father of the child.
The precise date is not known. However, over time various scientists have suggested the following dates based on the presence of a bright star in the sky that was noted at the time of birth:
- 7BC - Johannes Kepler and modern proponents point to a "triple conjunction" of Jupiter and Saturn, which occurred three times that year.
- April 5BC - Chinese astronomical records suggests a "guest star" (likely a comet or nova) appeared for over 70 days, pointing to a birth in April of 5 B.C.
- 11 September 3BC - researcher Dr. Michael Heiser suggests this date correlates with Jupiter (the "King Planet") appearing in conjunction with the star Regulus (the "King Star") in Leo, which was seen as a "coronation" of the Messiah.
- 17 June 2BC - astronomer Michael Molnar suggested a rare astronomical event where Venus and Jupiter appeared as a single, incredibly bright "star" in the constellation Leo, which was interpreted as a royal birth.
The child is born with a normal human body. But what of his consciousness? It is suggested here that this child possessed three elements of consciousness, both divine and human:
- The normal, localised, individual (Jesus Christ as man) consciousness which supports the organic machine that is the human body;
- The greater, external and eternal individual (Jesus Christ as man) consciousness that is non-material and exists outside of the human body but is connected to it; and
- The divine (Jesus Christ as God) cosmic consciousness which is that of the Creator, Source, the One and the origin of the Universe. It is from this Cosmic Consciousness that, through a process of fractalization, all subsequent individual consciousnesses in existence and present in the universe derive, including that of Jesus Christ as man.
With this in mind, we are able to understand how Jesus Christ could live for a period on planet Earth as both God and man. This helps explain the numerous references primarily within the Bible but also elsewhere by human beings either trying to explain who Jesus Christ was, or reiterating his words. For example, Jesus would go on to be described in the following terms, even by himself:
- Alpha and Omega [Revelation 1:8, 21:6, and 22:13]
- Eternal Life [1 John 5:20]
- God [John 1:1, 14, Romans 9:5]
- Good Shepherd [John 10:11-18]
- I / I Am (ἐγώ εἰμι) [John 8:58]
- Immanuel [Matthew 1:23-24]
- Issa / Isa-Maseeh [Indian for Jesus Christ; also used by Islam]
- Jesus Christ / Jesus the Christ [Throughout the Bible]
- King of Kings [Book of Revelation (17:14; 19:16) and 1 Timothy 6:15]
- Lamb of God [John 1:29]
- Light of the World [John 8:12]
- Lord [John 20:28]
- Lord of Lords [Book of Revelation (17:14; 19:16) and 1 Timothy 6:15]
- Messiah [Matthew 16:16]
- Prince of Peace [Isaiah 9:6-2]
- Redeemer of all Mankind [Colossians 1:13-14, Galatians 3:13]
- Savior [Titus 2:13]
- Son of God [Hebrews 1:8, John 10:30]
- Son of Man [Referred to by Jesus himself frequently; Acts 7:56]
- Word (Logos) [John 1:1, 14]
- Yahweh (c.f. Lord)
- Yeshua (יֵשׁוּעַ) / Yehoshua / [Personal family Hebrew name, meaning salvation, or Yahweh saves, and commonly translated as Jesus. Used througout Gnostic texts.]
Note that the references to Jesus Christ as Yahweh are a misnomer, as that figure was a reference to an Old Testament god who was in fact a being of evil.
The variety of names in the above list point to the difficulty humans have in dealing with the concept of God, let alone God's temporary presence amongst them in the form of a man, but also, and most importantly, to the God nature of Jesus Christ as a part of the Blessed Trinity, i.e., three persons in one God. Islam fails to understand or accept this distinction of a tripartite monotheistic Christian God.
* 8 days after birth Jesus is circumcised, as per custom.
* 40 days after birth, the baby Jesus was presented to the Temple at Jerusalem.
* Three Wise Men from the East (Zoroastrian Magi from Persia, or monks from Tibet), attend the family, having become aware of the significance of the birth, in a manner similar to the process of identification of a reborn Tibetan Dalai Lama. It is suggested that subsequent to his birth, a close watch was kept upon his upbringing and time as a child by these people from the East. His birth was apparently marked by a star in the sky.
* Joseph is warned of Herod's desire to kill Jesus, so the family flee to Egypt. Herod later dies that same year.
5BC
* (Age: 1) The family return to Galilee after hearing of Herod's death in 4BC. They settle in Nazareth. No precise biographical details of the childhood of Jesus up until the age of 12 are known.
circa 8AD
* (Age: 12) At the age of 12 Jesus is left at the Temple in Jerusalem and lectures to the priests. This points to his advanced spiritual development by that age. As the Son of God, such development is to be expected. It did not suddenly appear when the accounts of his later life are presented in the Gospels of the New Testament, but had been with him since birth and merely waiting for the development of his human form to enable expression of it to those around him.
circa 9AD
* (Age: 13) Following public pressure to marry at the age of 13, and opposition arising out of his exposure at the Temple, Jesus is secreted away from Palestine to the East to continue his studies and teaching. He remains there for approximately sixteen years and is most commonly known by the name Issa.
[NB: Jesus lived in the region geographically known in 2026 as Palestine/Israel, but he lived in the 1st century AD as a Jewish man in the Roman province of Judea and Galilee. The name "Palestine" was not used for the region until after his death, beginning in 135AD when Romans renamed it Syria-Palaestinian to break the Jewish connection.]
10-22AD
* (Ages: 14 - 26) From the age of 14, Jesus studies and works in India amongst the poor and in and around Jagannath.
22-27AD
* (Ages: 26 - 31) Jesus studies Buddhism in Nepal and at Lhasa, Tibet.
27AD
* (Age: 31) Jesus leaves India and begins to travel back to Palestine through Persia.
29AD
* (Age: 33) Whilst returning to Judea from the East, Jesus rests near a pool in Kabul, Afghanistan.
30AD
* (Age: 34) Jesus returns to Nazareth from the East.
* Around this time, or earlier, Jesus visits the Cornwall district of southwest England with his merchant brother Joseph Arimathea (Crown Prince), on business connected with tin mining. It is also suggested that
following this initial visit he travelled again (without Joseph) to
England and went as far as Glastonbury to study Druid tradition and
belief. In 1808 William Blake composed the poem / hymn Jerusalem, which has subsequently taken on the
mantle of de facto national anthem of England. It refers to the presence
of Jesus in England, though the origin of Blake's possession of this belief is
not known.
And did those feet in ancient time
Walk upon England's mountains green:
And was the holy Lamb of God,
On England's pleasant pastures seen!
And did the Countenance Divine,
Shine forth upon our clouded hills?
And was Jerusalem builded here,
Among these dark Satanic Mills?
Bring me my Bow of burning gold:
Bring me my arrows of desire:
Bring me my Spear: O clouds unfold!
Bring me my Chariot of fire!
I will not cease from Mental Fight,
Nor shall my sword sleep in my hand:
Till we have built Jerusalem,
In England's green & pleasant Land.
* Jesus commences preaching there and this is later recorded and preserved in edited form within the New Testament of the Bible.
33AD
* (Age: 37) Friday, 3 April 33AD - Jesus Christ (God & man) is crucified. He dies - He gave up his spirit (John 19:30) - and is placed in a tomb.
* Saturday: The following day Mary Magdalene visits the tomb and sees that it is open and the body of Jesus Christ is not present. However, shortly thereafter he appears, as outlined in the following AI-generated video:
Why did Jesus say '[Do not cling to me for I have not as yet ascended to the Father]' to Mary Magdalene after the Resurrection?, The Unveiled Bible, 13 April 2026, YouTube, duration: 12.35 minutes.
How can this be explained? Well, as outlined above, Jesus is both God and man. At the point of encounter with Mary, the separation of God from man is imminent. The God Jesus Christ will shortly thereafter ascend into Heaven as per the Christian narrative; whilst the earthly body of Jesus Christ as man will live on. The Christian narrative as set out in the Bible and subsequent theology is secured. The place of Mary Magdalene as Christ's chief apostle is also dealt with as she becomes his partner in life and the Church carried on with his mission under a male leadership.
It is possible that the Shroud of Turin is a permanent physical record of the torture and death by crucifixion of Jesus Christ (God and man) with the imprint upon the shroud a "snapshot" of the moment in which that aspect of the body of Christ - bloodied and scared - is forever removed and replaced by a restored, living, human body - the one that Mary Magdalene encounters at the opened tomb.
The present author's public response to the above AI-generated video of the encounter at the opened tomb was as follows:
Beautiful ... I would, however, explain the encounter with Mary Magdalene slightly differently ... Jesus Christ is both God and man. At the point of encounter with Mary outside the open tomb, the separation of God from man is imminent. The God Jesus Christ will shortly thereafter ascend into Heaven as per the Christian (Bible) narrative; whilst the earthly body of Jesus Christ as man will live on in India and Kashmir for another 70 or so years. The Christian narrative as set out in the Bible and subsequent theology is secured by the separation of the God essence from the restored physical body of Jesus Christ the man, and the latter's subsequent "disappearance". This restoration process was recorded in the Shroud of Turin, as the torture and crucifixion scares are removed. The place of Mary Magdalene as Christ's chief apostle is also dealt with as she goes on to become his partner in life and the Church carries on with his mission under a male leadership and through apostles such as the former Pharisee Paul. The Church is able to deny the love story between Jesus Christ (man) and Mary and rewrite history to its own benefit. Outside of this, the essence of the story of Jesus Christ as both God and man remains, at least for those of us who look beyond the text of a censored and manipulated Bible, towards records such as the Ethiopian Bible and the numerous Gnostic texts. My faith in Jesus Christ as both God and man remains, and is actually enhanced by this video and those other texts. Thank you. PS: The encounter of Jesus with his brother Thomas was simply an encounter with the post-Resurrection body of Jesus Christ the man, which Mary Magdalene had also subsequently encountered following the ascent of the God aspect (consciousness) of Jesus Christ into Heaven.
* late Sunday afternoon [Luke 24:13–31]: Cleopas and another man leave the city for a 7 mile walk to Emmaus. They were distressed over the death of Jesus. A stranger then starts walking with them and asks: What are you discussing as you walk along? They answer: You must be one of the only men to not know. They then explain the torture and crucifixion and their own lamentation over the loss of Jesus. "How slow you are to understand ...."
Why Didn't the Disciples Recognize Jesus After the Resurrection?, The Unveiled Bible, 17 April 2026, YouTube, duration: 11.36 minutes.
* Later that day a group of the apostles encounter Jesus in Jerusalem, including the two from earlier in the day.
* A couple of days after the tomb encounter, the physical body of Jesus encounters his brother Thomas, who, upon doubting him, confirms his existence through touch.
* Following his Resurrection / recovery, Jesus Christ (man) escapes in secret to India with a small group of family and friends, including his mother Mary, his wife / partner Mary Magdalene, and his brother Thomas.
* Jesus takes up residence in Kashmir, where he is known as Yus Assaf / Youza Asaf, meaning 'Leader of the Healed ' or 'The Shepherd'.
* Life of St Issa - The Best of the Sons of Men is recorded. This is the earliest surviving record of the life and teachings of Jesus Christ. It includes two manuscripts in Tibetan translated from the original Pali. Copies are located in Hemis Monastery, Leh, Ladakh, India, based on originals once held in the Dalai Lama's Potala Palace, Lhasa, Tibet. The account was taken from travelling Indian merchants shortly after the crucifixion circa 33AD. Elements of the manuscripts were first transcribed and published in English by Nicholas Notovitch following his discovery of them at Hemis during 1887. That text comprises 244 paragraphs in 14 chapters, arranged by Notovitch in a roughly chronological order from the dispersed original manuscripts.
34AD
* (Age: 38) The spirit of Jesus Christ (God) appears to the anti-Christian Pharisee Saul of Tarsus, later known as the apostle Paul, and asks: Why are you oppressing me?" Paul, after suffering a temporary blindness, then becomes a follower of Christ and a leader in the Catholic Church.
49AD
* (Age: 53) Jesus (man) travels to Kashmir and settles during the reign of Raja Gopadatta (49-109 AD).
78AD
* (Age: 82) King Kanishka of Kashmir issues a coin in association with the 4th Buddhist Council. It shows both Jesus (Youza Asaf) and Buddha as equivalents.
* King Raja Shalewahin visits the Himalayas where he comes across a dignified saintly looking person of fair complexion wearing white robes. Shalewahin asked him who he is. He replies:
"Know me as the son of God (Ishputram) and born of a virgin. I am the preacher of the Mlechchh religion and a follower of the true principles."
On being asked what his religion was, he said:
"Rajan, on the disappearance of truth and the destruction of traditions, I appeared there, and through my work the wicked and the guilty suffered, and in turn, I also suffered at their hands."
When again asked to further explain his religion, he said:
"It is love, truth and purity of heart, and for this I am called 'Isa-Maseeh' (Jesus Christ)."
The king returned after making his obeisance to him. (Vedvyas 115AD, Dixit 1985)
c. 87AD
* (Age: 91) Acts of Thomas / Gospel of Thomas, manuscript in Syriac, circulating prior to 240AD (Wikipedia). Apocryphal gospel account of preaching in India by the apostle Thomas and the teaching of Jesus Christ. This may have been a rewriting of The Life of Saint Issa, or an account by Jesus himself.
121AD
* (Age: 125) Jesus Christ (man) meets King Salivahana near Srinagar, Kashmir. This encounter is recorded in the Bhavishya Mahapurana, the 9th book of the Hindu Paranas.
125AD
* (Age: 129) Jesus Christ (man) dies in India. According to one recent account:
After his crucifixion, his wounds healed, Jesus migrated towards the east with his mother Mary and his beloved disciple Thomas. Mary could not survive the rigours of the journey and died at Muree, near Islamabad, on the Rawalpindi - Srinagar route. The town, it is pointed out, derives its name from Mary and, till the turn of the last century, was also spelt as such. Thomas travelled to South India where he passed away, spreading the gospel. Sahibzada Basharat Saleem, a resident of Srinagar, even today has in his possession a complete genealogical table which traces his direct descent from Jesus Christ. Jesus it is said, died at a ripe old age from natural causes and was buried in the crypt of Rauzabal (Dixit 1985).
His body is located to the present day in a tomb in Kashmir known as the Roza Bal Shrine.

3. Comments
The above historical chronology is claimed, by the present writer, to be the truth. Others would see it, in part or whole, as pure fiction / fantasy, and even Christians would doubt many of the interpretations, especially those concerning an earthly existence following the Resurrection and ascension into Heaven of Jesus Christ (God). Religion is, at its heart, based on belief. The writer merely seeks to understand and believe.
