1. David Grusch & the 90 year coverup

David Grusch: In 1933, a bell-like craft, around ten metres in size, was recovered in Magenta, northern Italy. It was kept by Mussolini's government until 1944 when it was recovered by agents of the Office of Strategic Services (OSS, a former US intelligence agency). Ironically, it predates anything the public has heard about for decades, such as Roswell etc. (5 June 2023)

A UFO / flying saucer crash-landed in Magenta, Italy during 1933, before the terms UFO or flying saucer had been coined or popularised. The cause of the crash is unknown - it may have been of its own volition (highly unlikely) or was shot down by the Italians. The latter was the case with the Americans and the Roswell UFO incident of July in 1947, wherein they utilised an advanced doppler 'radar' device which was actually a scalar longitudinal weapon. The Magenta craft, and the bodies of its two deceased occupants, was immediately confiscated by the government and armed forces of Fascist dictator Benito Mussolini.

Q: But wasn't Kenneth Arnold's description of a flying saucer over Oregon on 24 June 1947 the first such reference, and Roswell, New Mexico, in July 1947, the site of the first flying saucer and Alien body retrieval in modern history?

Well, no... Arnold's was the reference which popularised the term flying saucer in the United States, but it had been used in relation to a UFO seen over Texas during 1930 and, in part, as early as 1878 (Torres and Lemay 2022). Circular, supposedly Alien or non-terrestrial spacecraft were not new phenomena - they had been around and spoken and written about, or illustrated, for centuries. For example, 1929 saw publication of a collage engraving by German Surrealist artist Max Ernst which featured a supposed Alien spacecraft creating havoc upon humanity below.

At the time it was seen as merely a piece of surrealistic fantasy, with the public not realising that since 1924 attempts had begun in that country, under the auspices of Austrian psychic Maria Orsic, to construct just such a craft. Similar depictions and references to Alien spacecraft are known dating back to pre-Biblical times, such as within Mayan art and culture. However, their retrieval and scientific study thereafter was not known publically, with official denials of any such activity usually the case since the 1940s. 

Australian journalist and ufologist David Coulthart's 5 June 2023 interview with American intelligence officer and whistleblower David Grusch changed that widely held position. The Grusch / Coulthart interview coincided with an article published that day in The Debrief and publically broadcast by America's online NewsNation on 11 June. The interview caused a sensation and reignited the UFO / Alien debate within the United States, to a level not present since the early 1950s when the military and government took out all stops to deny and ridicule the subject. The Grusch / Coulthart interview also contained the bombshell announcement that the Catholic Pope Pius XII (1857-1939) and the Vatican had collaborated with US authorities towards the end of World War II, and immediately thereafter, to assist in the retrieval and transport to the United States of the 1933 Italian UFO, and possibly its two deceased pilots. The former was taken from a storage facility in Italy (Leslie and Blumenthal 2023, Coulthart 2023). Grusch spoke further on the Italian UFO crash in a 22 November 2023 interview with American YouTuber Joe Rogan (linked below), indicating therein that the Magenta craft was not the first UFO retrieval by the United States, though offering no specific detail regarding that matter. With the US obviously aware of the activity of the Germans in this area since the mid' 1920s, it is possible, and likely, that they had covertly been dealing with retrievals since that date, if not earlier.

In the Joe Rogan interview Grusch states that in regards to the Italian craft as retrieved by the US in 1945 (not 1944 as Grusch stated, though efforts to do so may have commenced as early as that date): 

There was nothing in it. It was just an artefact, [with] no biological remnants in it.

Much had apparently been removed by the Italians and Germans over the intervening years between 1933 and 1945, and Grusch may not have been aware of the Alien bodies associated with the original crash. He also stated that the craft was of the traditional, circular flying saucer shape, but when it crashed the sides came off, leaving a bell-like inner core remaining, which was subsequently secured by the US. This bell-like shape was also similar to the so-called German Glock UFO constructed by them during the 1940s and based on information provided to them by Aliens through Maria Orsic and possibly other direct contact with Earth-based Aliens such as Draco Reptilians and Nabu Greys.

There had long been rumours of a UFO, or UFOs, that the Italians, and especially the Germans, had investigated, and/or attempted to construct during the late 1930s and during World War II. It was not generally known that these efforts had started at least a decade earlier. In addition, it is said that the Germans captured a UFO that crashed near Frieberg in 1936, and they then, in collaboration with Orsic, pursued in earnest efforts to make their own militarized flying saucers based in part upon it/them. There has long been very little detail available on the matter or in the public mindset apart from the mythology around Foo Fighters, due to the coverup, the dispersal at the end of World War II of German records amongst the Americans and Russians, the destruction of examples, murder of workers and scientists involved in their construction, and transfer of scientists involved to secret non-German projects post-WWII to places such as the US through Operation Paperclip. It has usually been stated that though the Germans may have been successful in copying the basic design of the retrieved UFOs, they were never able to replicate, or likely understand, the propulsion system, and were forced to use jet engines, fans or normal airplane rotor blades in their experimental craft. The reality was likely very different, however, due to direct Alien involvement in their efforts and success in utilising and possibly replication free energy, anti-gravitic and warp drive capable craft.

Over they years since then, little has been known of this research and experimentation outside of European ufology circles where a great amount of detail had been revealed over the years. Some of this information reached the United States around 2021 where, since the 1980s, a small group of ufologists and whistleblowers had been gathering data on the subject, and from the 1990s making it available within Steven M. Greer's Sirius Disclosure Project and sites such as The Black Vault document archive (Lissoni 2001, Filer 2021). Of course, much of this information has been ignored, ridiculed or debunked by skeptics and government officials seeking to continue the post-Rockwell coverup and deny any and all such incidents - a coverup which continues to this day (Dunning 2023). One of the most interesting modern debunkers is the YouTuber who goes by the name of ProbablyJacob and in 2022 referred disparagingly to belief in UFOs and extraterrestrials as a new techno-religion, denying it any factual integrity (ProbablyJacob 2022). It is only since the Grusch revelations and associated US Congress hearings of July 2023 that some of that stigma has lifted.

The commonly held belief by those in the West is that the Roswell crash and retrieval of July 1947 was the first. When David Grusch mentioned that the US had 12 UFOs in its possession, many individuals and politicians began to take notice of this issue, including the present author. Of course this was not new either, as John Lear had stated during George Knapp's On the Record television show in 1987 that the US at that stage had between 10 and 15 UFOs in storage, with three in perfect condition and at least one having been successfully flown by American pilots. Steven Greer also revealed during the 1990s that, since 1954, the US had replicated UFOs and their power sources, subsequently using them in creating false-flag UFO encounters and events such as Alien abductions, though the latter were carried out by both Aliens and terrestrials. Knapp also reported on the fact that there were also 30-50 alien bodies in cryogenic storage, representing at least five different civilisations, from the small, 3-4 foot tall "little green men" or Greys of science fiction, to the 6-7 foot tall, blond and blue-eyed beings of some recent UFO crashes and encounters. References have also been made to reptilian creatures, similar to the Gorn in Star Trek.

It took almost a month after the Coulthart interview was aired, and only following a muted response from the US government finally confirming the actual existence of UFOs - which they now refer to somewhat vaguely as UAPs (unidentified anomalous phenomena) - that the mainstream media sought to reveal information on the 1933 Italian UFO event. This had been revealed throughout ufology networks since 1996 by Italian and American researchers such as Roberto Pinotti, Alfredo Lissoni and George Filer. The notable revelation took place on 4 July 2023 when two British Daily Mail journalists - Josh Boswell and Chris Sharp - reported that a UFO had indeed been secured by the Italians following its crash landing on 11 June 1933 near Magenta in Lombardy. They noted:

The journalists therein hedged their bets with inclusion of terms such as 'supposed' and 'allegedly' in their report, thereby casting continuing and unwarranted doubt on Grusch's testimony under oath before the US Congress. Magenta has subsequently been referred to as the world's 'first' UFO / flying saucer crash retrieval (Bitti 2023, Brodsky 2023, Digvijay 2023). Of course, it can only be assumed that there is a wealth of data relating to the 1933 UFO and other UFOs in government (US, Russian, German, Italian) possession around the world and currently dealt with in a top secret manner. With the US authorities reticent in 2023 to discuss the complete truth around the UFO phenomena, for reasons still unclear (refer The Truth section below), the new claims of a 90-year worldwide coverup lead by them, but also involving nations such as Great Britain, Russia, China and now the Vatican, were substantiated.

With hopes that the flood gates would finally be open, any new information on the 1933 event was welcome. Such details were quickly revealed and the most significant are outlined in this article. As David Coulthart's 2021 book In Plain Sight revealed, the information on UFOs such as the 1933 Italian crash had long been available to both the public and governments around the world, and knowledge of Alien encounters which were publically recorded go back to Biblical times, such as the famous Old Testament Ezekiel vision. However, the active coverup process seeks to bury all such information. Recent investigations, such as the US Blue Book program prior to 1970, gave rise to thousands of reported sightings and encounters. The secrecy and subterfuge was there in 1933 and, with the support of the mainstream media, included organisations such as the Vatican, it remains. True openness and accountability is a long way off due to the vested interests of the military / industrial complex, and other unknown forces warned about by President Eisenhower in his 1961 farewell address.

2. RS/33

Benito Mussolini, 23 February 1941: In all cases it is more likely that the United States, before it is attacked by Axis [German & Italian] soldiers, will be attacked by the not well known but very warlike inhabitants of the planet Mars, who will descend from the distant stars in unimaginable flying fortresses.

The forces Mussolini was referring to were those of the Draco Reptilians and Nabu Grey Aliens who had had a long-term presence on Earth and throughout the solar system, with bases on the Moon, Mars, Ceres and Ganymeade (Kasten 2019). The Italian dictator knew this due to his close alliances with the Germans who had been working with these groups since the early 1920s at least. As a result, a top secret UFO research and investigation committee was set up by Mussolini in 1933 following the retrieval of the Magenta craft and bodies. It was referred to as RS/33 (i.e., Research Committee of 1933). Based at La Spienza University, Rome, it included the following politicians, members of the military and scientists:

• Count Galeazzo Ciano (Mussolini's son-in-law and Foreign Minister of Italy)
• Physicist and radio pioneer Guglielmo Marconi (chair of the committee and a well-known promoter of the existence of life on Mars and in the wider universe)

• Astronomer Gino Cecchini
• Italian academics
• Members of the Royal Italian Academy of Sciences
• Italian engineers, including Dr. Ruggero Costanti Cavazzani, Professor Severi, Professor Bottazzi, Professor Giodani, Professor Crocco and Professor Guiseppe Bullazzo (Arndt 2000).

RS/33 ceased operating in 1940, after compiling a 30 page dossier on Velivolvi Sconoscuti, or Unknown Aircraft. At one stage the report was sent to a major newspaper, the Resto del Carlino, though, as elsewhere, the secrecy and threats if information was leaked, meant that much of this information was ignored by the general public, due to apathy, fear or basic skepticism.

A number of books, articles, blogs, podcasts and videos have discussed the 1933 Italian UFO since the early 2000s, and information from many of them is reproduced or linked in below. The most significant perhaps, due to their efforts to bring together numerous prior reports, are the Researchomnia blog from 2017, and George Filer's 2021 webpage. The former perhaps provides the best summary to date, alongside the Vatican material highlighted by Grusch and Coulthart in 2023 (Bjr 2017, Filer 2021). A chronology of this information is presented below.

3. Timeline

The following summary timeline focuses on the Italian UFO crash of 1933 and related events leading up to the 2023 revelations, with an additional spotlight on the role of the Vatican and Catholic Church in both the retrieval and coverup, and the Italian - German collaboration during WWII in seeking to build a flying saucer, or flying disc, based on Alien technology.

1924

* A program to construct a flying saucer commences in Germany, at the instigation of Austrian psychic and Vril Society founder Maria Orsic, based on information provided to her telepathically by Aliens. During the 1930s the program is taken control of by Hitler's Nazi Party and continues through to the end of World War II, after which the Germans set up bases in Argentina and Antarctica and off-planet to continue their research. The success of the program went on to provide the basis for the similar United States program following the end of the war and utilising the Paperclip scientists and confiscated material and craft.

1933

* 11 June: A UFO crashes near Magenta in Lombardy, Italy. It is 50 feet wide and a traditional flying saucer shape, as in two plates (saucers) put together and with a bulge on top. During the crash the sides come off, leaving a bell-shaped inner core section undamaged. It has been reported as both unoccupied or occupied by two small or tall (5' 9") blond Nordics-like bodies with Asian type features and light blue eyes.

* 12 June

- Mussolini is informed of the crash. He immediately informs Pope Pius XII and the Vatican.

- Mussolini's Blackshirts are despatched to the area to secure the UFO.

* 13 June

- Press statements are issued by the Italian government's Stefani Agency regarding the crashed object. However, later in the day updates contain the news that Mussolini has intervened and demanded that any and all information concerning the UFOs be made secret, with punitive measures for any person who goes against these orders. This replicates the later stern measures employed by the US authorities in covering up the UFO / Alien phenomena, with threats of death, imprisonment and career destruction.

* 20 June

- [Report on mysterious aircraft crash and the forms of life on Mars, following on comments and actions by Marconi], Cronaca Prealpina, Varese, 20 June 1933.

June - The UFO is transported to a large seaplane hanger at Vergiate in the Varese area, owned by SIAI-Marinetti.

- Mussolini sets up the RS/33 - a high level Research Committee (Gabinetto RS/33) to investigate and study the crashed UFO.

1933+

- Mussolini contacts Adolf Hitler regarding the securing of the crashed UFO and asking if it was a German experimental craft.

- The Germans work with the Italians in studying the UFO and developing their own version of a flying saucer and associated Alien spacecraft.

1936

- Some UFOs are chased by Italian and German planes over the region of Mestre and Venice.

- The Germans retrieve a UFO which crashed near Maiberg.

1937

- During the invasion of Czechoslovakia, Adolf Hitler is filmed with a UFO in the sky in the background. It is possible this may have been a retrieved Alien craft or one of the Nazi experimental aircraft, based on information gained from the Italian and Maiberg UFOs.

- December: Mussolini's grandson is named Marzio ("dedicated to Mars").

1938

- Mussolini and Hitler sign agreements to work together on back-engineering of the Magenta and other UFOs. They later develop  / utilise something which becomes known as the Foo Fighter.

- Pope Pius XII is furious in regards to the proposed use of the Magenta UFO for military purposes. He informs the US President Roosevelt about the UFO crash.

1941

- 23 February: Speech by Mussolini:

É più verosimile che gli Stati Uniti siano invasi, prima che dai soldati dell’Asse, dagli abitanti non molto conosciuti, ma pare assai bellicosi, del pianeta Marte, che scenderanno dagli spazi siderali su inimmaginabili fortezze volanti.

[Translation: In all cases it is more likely that the United States, before it is attacked by Axis soldiers, will be attacked by the not well known but very warlike inhabitants of the planet Mars, who will descend from the distant stars in unimaginable flying fortresses.]

c.1944-45

- The owner of the UFO storage facility at Vergiate joins the French resistance and attempts to destroy the Magenta craft and keep it from the Germans by starting a fire in the building. He is unsuccessful.

- Pope Julius XII makes contact with the US authorities in regards to securing the Magenta UFO following the downfall of Mussolini.

- A U.S. secret agent confirms: Bring to the United States the wreckage of the ship and the remains of the pilots found in 1933 in Lombardy and studied by Marconi. (Bitti 2023)

1945

- April 1945 - the Magenta UFO is captured by the Americans and shipped to the United States and Area 51, Nevada. It is kept secret, is studied, and is subject to attempts at back-engineering, though much of its workings had already been stripped. It is unclear as to whether the Alien bodies were also transferred to the US.

1950

* 24 March

- Professor Guiseppe Belluzzo, former member of RS/33, is widely quoted in American newspapers such as The Mirror, New York, about human-constructed flying saucers during WWII. It reads as follows:

Flying Discs 'Old Story', says Italian. Rome, March 24. 

An Italian scientist said today that types of flying discs were designed and studied in Germany and Italy as early as 1942. "Adolph Hitler and Benito Mussolini," he added, "were interested in the instruments, and the idea was developed concurrently in Italy and Germany." Flying discs or saucers have been reported sighted recently in many parts of the world. There has been no scientific confirmation of the existence of such things, nor any universally accepted explanation of what their purpose might be. The Italian scientist, Guiseppe Belluzzo, noted Italian authority on projectiles and cannons and building in 1905 of the first steam turbine in Italy, made his declarations in Romes independent Glornale d'Italia. "There is nothing supernatural or Martian about flying discs," he said, "but they are simply rational application of recent technique." Professor Belluzzo expressed the opinion "some great power is launching discs to study them." Reports of flying discs in Italian skies have been frequent. The latest report came last night from Northern Turin, where several persons said they saw a saucer speeding across the moonlit sky leaving a fiery train.

* 25 March

- Telegraph, Brisbane and The Canberra Times. A variant of the Belluzzo story is published in Australia and reads as follows:

'There are Flying Saucers' ROME, March 25 (A.A.P.)

Italy's leading turbo-jet expert, Professor Guiseppe Belluzzo, says that there are such things as flying saucers. He declared that "Germany and Italy developed them in 1942 when he was Fascist Minister of Economy, says the "Daily Mail." The Axis discs were made of light metal with a 30-feet perimeter, he said. They were jet-propelled and spun in the air. Professor Belluzzo says, "Hitler and Mussolini examined the weapon which would have won the war but for incompetent and immoral people who are today held in high esteem." He thinks today's flying saucers are being tested by some big Power to deliver atomic charges. U.S. Opinion. In Washington, flying saucers might have a direct relation to the United States atomic programme, Senator Clinton Anderson was quoted as having said today. The Washington columnist, Robert Allen, writing in the "New York Post", said that Senator "Anderson was convinced that the flying discs were not figments of the imagination." Allen said that Senator Anderson had stated, "I believe something big is under way. There is too much going on in those large research centres in my State to pooh-pooh the numerous eye-witness stories of flying saucers and other mysterious devices roaring over the countryside. Those official denials are nothing new. They are to be expected. Strange machinery and heavy equipment were moved into New Mexico in war-time for 'solar radiation' experiments. There was, radiation all right, but it was the atomic bomb. I am convinced that you are going to be surprised about where these flying saucers are coming from, and what they really are when the facts are finally made known. I think they have a direct relation to the atomic programme."

1954

- President Eisenhower meets with Nordic Aliens similar to the 1933 Italian UFO crash pilots at Edwards Airforce Base. He invites the Catholic Bishop James Francis "John" McIntyre of Los Angeles to the meeting, in order to keep the Vatican up to date on this issue. He meets them two more times, but refuses to give up the nuclear weapons program, as they requested.

1996

- Archival documents relating to the 1933 and 1936 UFO encounters are dispersed amongst Italian UFO researchers by an anonymous donor.

2000

- Italian researchers publish information on the 1933 and 1936 events. This information is largely ignored by the media and public at large. They are subsequently referred to as the Renato Pinotti Papers according to the person who made them public.

4. The Pietro Negri account 1933

Though the Pinotti papers which appeared in the early 2000s were met with much scepticism both inside Italy and without, others have dealt with them more seriously, and additional information has slowly been forthcoming over the years prior to David Grusch's public statements in 2023. For example, Italian Pietro Negri told his family about the Magenta UFO. Boswell and Sharp reported this as follows:

Marco Negri, whose family have lived in Northern Italy for over a century, said his great-great grandfather told stories to his father of a strange metallic aircraft without wings that crashed in Magenta in the 1930s. Marco, 42, said his ancestor Pietro Negri was Podesta (Mayor) of Arona from the 1920s through the 1950s, less than 10 miles from Vergiate where the alleged wreckage was supposedly stored, and about 30 miles from the supposed crash site.

'My great-great grandfather Pietro told my father a story about the strange crash in 1933, since he was young,' Marco said. 'It was a second-hand story told to me by my father when I was a child in the early 1990s. But it matches the story of the crash. I was told a strange metal plane with no wings crashed somewhere between Vergiate and Magenta. I was told there was a big censorship around this crash. The fascist secret police were sent to the surrounding cities to keep people silent about it.'

Marco, who says he and his family disavow their ancestors' Fascist past, added that Pietro's position as head of the town and its police force meant he was able to see telegrams about the crash. Marco said his great-great grandfather died in the 1950s and his father and other older family members he told his story have also passed away, offering no corroboration for the tale.

The Lombardy resident said his great-great grandfather's story also included a wild detail that Pinotti also described – without evidence: that two 'bodies' with blond hair were found inside the craft. Marco said his ancestor described them as 'child-sized', whereas in presentations at UFO conferences, Pinotti said they were around 5'9' with 'light hair and eyes'. (Boswell and Sharp 2023)

It would appear that this craft is the one subsequently sent, with the assistance of the Vatican, to the United States for study, and discussed by Grusch and Coulthart in 2023. From the US side, the following comments would tend to support this claim:

Despite the skepticism around the case, the former head of the US government's UFO investigation unit told DailyMail.com that officials are taking the case 'seriously'. 'The incident is something we've taken seriously and we continue to take seriously,' said Lue Elizondo, who helped lead AATIP, the Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program at the Department of Defense until 2017. One Italian resident near the site [Marco Negri] shared information with DailyMail.com that predates the discovery of Pinotti's controversial documents. (Boswell and Sharp 2023)

As noted, the once 'controversial' Pinotti documents are no longer treated with such disdain. They are described below.

5. The Pinotti revelations 1996+

In 2000 Renato Pinotti, president of the Italian National Ufological Center, which goes by the initials CUN, published material relating to documents received by him and others from 1996 anonymously and mysteriously sent by an individual labelled Mr. X. Pinotti stated that they were evidence of the 11 June 1933 crash of a UFO in Italy, and of a secret department known as RS/33 subsequently set up by Benito Mussolini to study the alleged item and, eventually, share information with Adolf Hitler's NAZI regime in Germany. The material was also published and expanded upon by Alfredo Lissoni in the Flying Saucer Review during 2001. In 2023, following on the David Grusch revelations, Pinotti provided journalists Boswell and Sharp with copies of the documents, along with translations from the Italian. Five of these are reproduced below.

* June 1933 telegrams (3) in Italian demanding from Mussolini 'absolute silence' regarding the Stefani Agency press releases over an 'alleged landing on national soil of an unknown aircraft'. The translated text of the first reads as follows, with grammatical elements added to the sparse telegram text in order to aid in comprehension:

#1 - [13 June 1933] By personal order of Il Duce, absolute silence is ordered on the presumed landing on national soil of an unknown aircraft. Stop. The version to publish, diffused with today's dispatch by Stefani, is confirmed. The same version is also for staff and journalists. Stop. Maximum penalties are foreseen for transgressors, up to deferment to the State Security Supreme Court. Stop. Immediate confirmation of receipt is requested. Stop. Director of Special Affairs. Ends. Stop. Not to be copied.

- On the personal order of Il Duce, absolutely no mention is to be made of the alleged landing of an unknown aircraft on national soil. The same applies to today's news due for publication by the Stefani Agency and individual journalists. Maximum penalty for non-compliance will be enforced by the Tribunal for State Security. Not to be copied.

#2 - 13 June. Of personal order of Il Duce, it is disposed that immediate - Repeat - immediate arrest [will occur] for diffusion of news related to the aircraft of unknown nature and origin, of which [reference is made] in the dispatch of Stefani, date today, 7.30am. Stop. Immediate recast of any leads from the newspapers bearing said news is ordered. Stop. Maximum penalties for transgressors are foreseen, up to referral to the Supreme Court of State Security. Stop. Immediate confirmation of receipt is required. Stop. General Director of Special Affairs. Ends. Stop. Not to be copied.

#3 - 13 June. By superior order it is disposed to treat news diffused with Stefanis dispatch no.66/3/1.C of today as follows - aircraft recognized as meteor repeat meteor by Brera Astronomical Observatory. Stop. Give minimum graphic relevance to news. Stop. No need - Repeat - no need to correct. Stop. Minimize. Stop. Immediate confirmation of receipt required. Stop. Director Special Affairs. Ends. Stop. Not to be copied.

The panicked tone evident in the three telegrams suggests that Mussolini initially agreed to dispersal of the news regarding the crashed UFO then, likely upon advice from an external source such as the Vatican, implemented a complete news blackout and coverup. We would see a similar situation at Roswell in the United States during 1947.

#4 - A typed, undated and signed note from Mussolini to Costanzo Ciano, Minister for Communications, referring to a mysterious government department called 'Gabinetto RS/33', or the RS (Special Research) 1933 Cabinet, set up by Il Duce.

Transcript: Senato del Ciano. Care De Santi, ti  transmetto, come richiento a concorda to a voce, la nota par tua regola. Non forae copie. Non parlarne neppure el tuo vice. Per ogni questione che a shia a che fare col Gabinetto RS/33, passa prima da me. Ho battuto io personalmente a macchina queste righe per non esporle sil'occhio (bistrato ma femmineo / ...) delle mie segretarie. Quindi, regolati di conseguenza ...

Translation: Senator Ciano. Dear De Santi, I send you, as I request to agree orally, this note as your rule. Do not make copies. Do not even talk about it to your deputy. For any question that has to do with the RS/33 Cabinet, come to me first. I personally typed these lines so as not to expose them to the (bilayered but feminine / ...) eyes of my secretaries. So, adjust accordingly… [Il Duce]

#5 - 22 August 1936 - a hand written memo with a government agency letterhead dated 22 August 1936 which includes a sketch and description of a cylindrical aircraft with portholes on the sides and white and red lights spotted flying over Venice and Mestre in northern Italy on 17 August 1936.

The documents reveal much about the Magenta incident and the efforts Mussolini took to cover it up and instigate further investigations.

6. A Vatican UFO conspiracy! 2006

On 14 December 2006 a person with the avatar Varyar posted the following account on the RPG.net site - a forum for those involved in role playing games, and a seemingly unlikely site for such a discussion topic (Varyar 2006). This article outlines the involvement of the Vatican in UFO issues, and suggests a reason for that. It also provides context to the role of Pope Pius XII in the Italian UFO crash of 1933 and the presence of 'extraterrestrial brothers' on Earth (Pullella 2008). The detailed content would suggest that the account is more than simply a fictional role-playing game scenario.

The Servizio Informazioni del Vaticano [SIV]

Overview

The SIV is a small group of priests (primarily Jesuits), religious (mainly Benedictine monks and nuns) and layfolk from various Catholic charity and political groups. The SIV's mission is to investigate Alien activities and provide analysis for the Pope and his advisors. It coordinates with other intelligence agencies dedicated to Alien affairs as needed, but the primary goal of the SIV is to deal with Alien contact from a philosophical and religious (specifically, a Catholic) perspective. It is an informal branch of the Church hierarchy in Rome and has no legal standing, although most national governments look the other way at its actions as long as they are discreet and don't get in the way.

History

The genesis of the SIV dates back to February 1954 and the legendary meeting between President Eisenhower and a delegation of Greys [Aliens]. Among others in attendance at that meeting was James Francis McIntyre, the Cardinal Archbishop of Los Angeles. Two days later, Cardinal McIntyre traveled to Rome and met with Pope Pius XII. As a result of this meeting and the revelations the Cardinal imparted to the Holy Father, the Servizio Informazioni del Vaticano (SIV) was formed.

The SIV would gather information about Alien activity on Earth, if possible in cooperation with the relevant agencies of the nations of the Free World, especially America. Of critical importance was to provide enough information for the Church to form an informed stance on Alien life when the time came for public revelation. To this end, the SIV began to act as a sort of Catholic Blue Book - gathering information on UFO sightings and alien encounters, and sorting the wheat from the chaff. Cardinal McIntyre and Detroit Archbishop Edward Mooney were the informal heads of the American branch of the SIV in its early days, while Maurice Cardinal Feltin of Paris and Milan's Giovanni Cardinal Montini (the future Pope Paul VI) managed affairs in Europe.

The most striking incident in the history of the SIV is certainly the 1959 meeting between Cardinal McIntyre and a delegation of Nordic-type Aliens supposedly from the Pleiades. These Aliens warned the SIV about the threat posed by other Aliens, especially the Greys who were becoming increasingly influential in American circles. These meetings, of which there were five in all, took place in the United States and in the Vatican Gardens (these were attended by Pope Pius XII himself, not long before his death).

During the 1960s, the SIV was nearly disbanded in the wake of the Church reforms and reorganization after Vatican II, but a skeleton agency continued on. It grew during the UFO flaps of the 1970s and again during the 1990s and is now as active as during the golden age of the 1950s. SIV operatives were among the first on the scene for the Varginha Incident in southern Brazil, and also present at the mass abduction incident in Enugu, Nigeria, as well as the famous Mexico City sightings during 1997.

7. The William Brophy account 2010

In 2010 the American ufologist George Filer published the following on his website (Filer 2010):

William Brophy writes, I was invited by Dr. Roberto Pinotti to the San Marino Republic UFO Symposium as a speaker to talk about the 1933 UFO crash near Milano, Italy and the 1942 Battle of Los Angeles which involve the tall blond Nordics who met with President Eisenhower at Edwards Airforce Base in 1954 and at Holloman Airforce Base in 1955.

On 13 June 1933, a bell shaped UFO crashed near Magenta, Italy, just west of Milano. The occupants were tall blond Nordics with oriental like features on their light blue eyes. The Italians called the UFO la Campania; the Germans called it Die Locked. Benito Mussolini, the Prime Minister of Italy, informed Pope Pius XII of the crash and placed Guglielmo Marconi in charge of the special RS-33 Study Group, which later served as a model for our MJ-12 group. The Japanese told the Italians and Germans that those tall blonde-haired people were in their legends; this led to the Axis Alliance. Pope Pius XII was furious and informed President Roosevelt about the UFO crash in 1938. Winston Churchill and Mussolini also carried on secret correspondence about the 1933 crash.

The Japanese carried out a symbolic attack on Pearl Harbor on 7 December in 1941, the city holiday of Milano, Italy. The tall blonde-haired peoples craft were the UFOs over Los Angeles on 25 February 1942, and a large disk with a row of windows was shot down in the Santa Catalina Island and San Clement Island area recovered by the ARS-1 Viking ship and taken to Moffat Field Navy Base. The Manhattan project at Berkeley next door studied the disk. The Trinity Bomb was named after Pope Pius XII and the three-inch anti-aircraft guns used in Los Angeles.

In April of 1945, the 1st Armored Division captured the Machete Aviation Facility where the 1933 Magenta UFO was kept and it was brought to the United States. My father Lt. Col. William J. Brophy was a B-29 bomber pilot with the 231 Air Base Group at Alamogordo, New Mexico, and witnessed the Trinity Bomb. He told me the silver-plate B-29 bomber was named after the Los Angeles 1942 disks.

One month later, on 16 August 1945, my father helped his commanding officer Col. Maurice A. Preston recover an oval shaped UFO with three very strange small light grey aliens with praying mantis features on their eyes and face. The UFO had destroyed a communications tower belonging to Stallion Site in the crash near Walnut Creek in San Antonio, New Mexico.

My father told me President Eisenhower met with the tall blonde-haired people involved with the 1933 Italy crash at Edwards Airforce Base on 20 February 1954. Eisenhower invited Cardinal James Francis "John" McIntyre [of Los Angeles] to the meeting since Pope Pius XII had told Roosevelt about the Nordic 1933 Magenta, Italy crash.

I gave Roberto Pinotti a book on the F-102 jet fighter, which has photos of two of the early model F-102 jets that were being tested at Edwards Airforce Base on the flight line when the tall blonds met with Eisenhower and Cardinal McIntyre. Another meeting took place in 1955, at Holloman Airforce Base which had to do with the San Antonio, New Mexico crash of 1945 as well as the San Augustin 1947 crash. We have an ongoing investigation into these events. The public in Italy are very interested in the Magenta-Milano crash of 1933, and its relation to other crashes and the Eisenhower meetings.

8. The George Filer account 2021

Apparently unknown to Grusch and Coulthart at the time of their revelations of 5 June 2023, during November 2021 the American ufologist and retired Airforce intelligence officer Major George Filer, of the National UFO Centre, published on his website a detailed account of the 1933 Italian UFO crash and the Pinotti information. [NB: A number of articles refer to the date of the crash as 13 June 1933. However, this relates to when public reporting began. It appears the actual crash took place two days earlier, on 11 June 1933]. This account included information from the previously posted William Brophy account. Filer's article also contained additional material to Lissoni, especially regarding the involvement of Pope Pius XII and the Vatican, beginning with Mussolini's notification of the crash to the Pope during 1933. He also tied it in with the NAZI experiments in attempting to construct a flying saucer during WWII. The following is an extract from that account which had, in turn, been sourced in part from Lissoni's earlier Flying Saucer Review article (Lissoni 2001).

Under Il Duce Mussolini, there was a secret government commission of inquiry, known as the RS/33 cabinet, which studied the UFOs. Then a second series of documents, in three different packages, posted in March-April 1996, were sent by “MR. X” to the top Italian ufologist Dr. Roberto Pinotti, Director of the Italian UFO research journal Notiziario UFO.

The sighting of a flying cigar over Venice and Mestre on the morning of 17 August 1936, was reported showing a “cigar” – described as “torpedo-shaped” – along with two spheres beside it, one of which resembled the planet Saturn, being pursued by a fighter aircraft. All this took place 15 years before Kenneth Arnold sighting in the state of Washington in 1947.

This sensational discovery was the result of new original material which had been sent to us anonymously on a number of occasions regarding the existence of the so-called “Fascist UFO Files.” This material dealt with a flying saucer that had either crashed or landed near Magenta in Lombardy in Italy on 11 April 1933, some fourteen years before the famous Roswell, New Mexico, UFO crash. This event involved a subsequent investigation by an obscure war time intelligence unit called “Gabinetto RS/33” (or RS/33 Cabinet). ‘RS’ is the acronym for Ricerche Speciali or Special Research, and thirty-three means 1933. This group had been authorized by Benito Mussolini to study the problem. Later the crashed UFO was stored in the hangars of the SIAI Marchetti in Verbiage.

Mussolini thought that this “unconventional flying vehicle” was a French, British or German secret weapon, but apparently Guglielmo Marconi believed it was extra-terrestrial in nature. The RS/33 Cabinet – according to the mysterious sender of the material who wrote to us saying he was a relative of one of its members who had investigated this. Between 1933 and 1940 there were many different Italian UFO sightings: in one instance an Italian fighter plane intercepted a UFO between Ravenna and Rome, and in August 1936 there was a multiple UFO sighting (a “flying cigar” and two Saturn-shaped UFOs) over Mestre and Venice. Indeed, in Italy there were many UFO sightings between 1933 and 1940, so little wonder a secret commission was established to study them.

The UFO Files of Mussolini

On 24 September 2021 a new book by Roberto Pinotti was released by Nancy Thames entitled UFO Contacts In Italy - Volume Two by Philip Mantle’s publishing company Flying Disk Press. It is the first time that some of this information has been made available in English. It included three telegrams from the Milan office of the Stefani Agency (the Fascist A.N.S.A.), which gave instructions, on the order of Dictator Duce Mussolini, to recuperate a flying saucer which had landed on 13 June 1933. There was also a Senatorial letter describing in detail the strategy to be followed after the craft had been recovered, i.e., censorship of the newspapers; arrest of the eyewitnesses; elaboration of a series of conventional explanations for the UFO (i.e., *sonde* balloons, meteors, perihelia) to be fed to the public via the Brera Astronomical Observatory at Milan.

It was discovered that the RS/33 Cabinet had been a top-secret study commission, created in the bosom of La Sapienza University in Rome following upon the recuperation of the UFO. Headed by the physicist Guglielmo Marconi, known for his belief in Martians. After Italy’s accession to the Berlin-Rome Axis, by arrangement with Hitler this material was all subsequently to be passed to the Nazis, who did, in actual fact, as a result, attempt a few years later to construct revolutionary discoidal aircraft called the V-7. As things went sour for Italy during the war, all the files from the RS/33 Cabinet were shipped to Nazi Germany. As Missoni points out, rumors of Nazi discs have plagued the UFO literature for decades, and one Italian scientist, [Professor] Giuseppe Belluzzo, is always mentioned in conjunction with the Germans, Miethe, Schriever and Habermohl.

Much nonsense has been written about the so-called Nazi flying saucers – some of its Nazi propaganda – yet undoubtedly there is at least some truth to the matter. The names of Miethe, et al., are confirmed by FBI and other U.S. and German documents. It is also possible that the German V-7 - a revolutionary discoidal aircraft whose existence as a prototype was confirmed by Hermann Oberth - was initially developed after Italian research by VNC. In the first place, it has come to light that ever since the end of the 1920s a German aircraft designer named Nordung had been attempting to build a “solar” flying disc to be sent out into space – subsequently re-baptized as the “flying wheel”, and so it is no wonder if the Italian Fascists, finding themselves confronted with a UFO, should have opted for the explanation that it was a secret weapon!

The “Moretti” trail led me to the Varese region. My hypothesis is in fact that the saucer recovered in 1933 had been hidden in one of the nearest and most discrete hangars in that region – namely the hangars of the aeronautical establishments of the SIAI Marchetti at Vergiate in the Varese region of Ticino which at that date were under the control of General Italo Balbo who became a member of the RS/33 Cabinet. The “Varese trail” had been suggested to me through several clues: namely that the messages about recovery of the UFO came from the nearby Telegraphic Office of Milan, and that in those very days Blackshirts were suddenly dispatched to that region. The Varese newspaper, the Cronaca Prealpina, of 20 June 1933, gave the first report, emphasizing the forms of life on Mars.

Mussolini and Hitler

A number of documents point to the existence of agreements made in 1938 between Mussolini and Hitler for the study of alien technology. They include an Agency Stefani message from Florence containing an interview with the Fuhrer Hitler when he was visiting Italy. Marconi claimed he could develop a death ray, which, so Mussolini said, had for one day, by remote control, halted all automobile and aircraft engines as far away as Ostia – a weapon which, by virtue of 1938 agreements between Mussolini and Hitler, would evidently reappear in the following year at Essen, Germany, causing a total blackout of the city according to the account given by the American ufologist Leonard Stringfield in his 1977 book UFO Siege. It is likely the Fascists and the Nazis managed to achieve “back-engineering” from the UFO of 1933.

The Fascist UFO Files nevertheless has a very special importance. For it demonstrates the existence of a governmental commission on UFOs before the official birth of UFOlogy itself. If, at the end of the 1920s, the Italians were beginning to hear of German experiments with disc-shaped aircraft - which we do know existed and which certainly were test-flown - then is it surprising that many Italian scientists may well have suspected that any weird craft seen flying over Italy in the years from 1933 to 1936 might well also have been German. Later, during WWII, they might logically have suspected that they were seeing “secret weapons of the enemy Allies.” Mussolini” himself was a keen flier and held a pilot’s license. Who else among the leaders in WWII did that? Well, it seems that as Germany tightened her grip on Italy, the Germans were able to command the Italians to hand all the alien craft’s evidence over to them! Remember the remarkable German success in building at least two types of “saucer-shaped” multi-jet aircraft. Roberto Pinotti, probably the best Italian UFO researcher, confirms that it is 100% certain that the “Fascist UFO Files” are completely genuine. It is believed the Italians gave the Germans access to the alien craft and they were able to back engineer the craft to develop the so-called Foo Fighters often reported by allied bombing aircrews. The key was the advanced propulsion system.

MUFON reports that four years after the Italian crash, a UFO was filmed over Czechoslovakia. The television program WWII in Color shows Hitler entering Czechoslovakia on 1 May 1937 with a UFO above him. Throughout is leadership Hitler often warned of advanced weapons that would bring victory to the Nazis. The Vril Society members were the first group to attempt the back engineering of an extraterrestrial spacecraft. A German writer, John Von Helsing, describes the discovery of a crashed saucer in the Black Forest, near Freiburg, in 1936 and says that this technology was taken and combined with the information the Vril Society had received through channeling and was made into a further project called the Haunebu. There are various stories of crashed saucers in Europe that are difficult to prove or deny.

When the war was over, the U.S. Army Air Force members were infiltrated precisely into Sesto regarding the presence of terrestrial flying saucers kept at Vergiate, Italy, and that the entire region, from time immemorial, was at the center of a most intense ufological activity, to such a degree that it gained the title of being “The Ticino Triangle of Northern Italy.”

In 1942, the enlarged Haunebu II of 26 meters (85 feet) diameter was ready for flight testing. This disc had a crew of nine and could also achieve supersonic flight of 6,000 to 21,000 km/h (13,000 mph) with a flight endurance of 55 hours. It had heat shielding of two hulls of Victale, a German super metal special armor. The craft were constructed and tested between 1943-44. The craft made 106 test flights. Both British and U.S. pilots reported seeing very fast Foo Fighters.

At the end of WWII, three weeks before the U.S. went to Peenemunde to seize the V-2s and the scientists, including Werner von Braun, the British went into the underground redoubts of the Nazis in Austria, the Black Forest and Thuringia. The results were three top secret trains, one of them eight miles long (that one train alone was 655 box cars and flat cars). The trains took the stuff, some of which was too large to fit in box cars and had to be covered by tarpaulins on its way to the coast of Brittany (France), there to be loaded on board ships, taken through the Panama Canal up the coast to Vancouver, B.C., and from there by train 100 miles inland to the newly constructed facility of the A.V. Roe Company, which took over the research and development of the wingless jet powered saucer craft. 150 prefabricated factory buildings were sent from England to the same site. By 1947 it was dug completely underground for security reasons to protect from prying Russian over flights. An underground facility with vertical shaft still exists cobwebbed and silent about 150 miles East of Vancouver, British Columbia. When the war ended, many German scientists were engaged by the USA to head their space program. But what of the German discs? Many such as William Tomkins believe that massive German U-boats transported many of them to a secret base in the Antarctic. That is when the US military kicked into action sending Admiral Byrd in his men to the frozen north. The battle that ensued saw heavy losses by the American’s but there are very few reports as to what actually happened there.

2. The United States has in its possession extraterrestrial spacecraft.
3. The United States has in its possession extraterrestrial, non-human bodies.
4. The United States and other countries and organisations, including private firms, have been studying UFOs and aliens since the 1930s, if not longer.
5. Alien technologies such as spacecraft and other materials have been back-engineered and new or corresponding technologies developed.
6. Contact with government and ordinary people has been made with extraterrestrial and extra-dimensional (non-human) beings and they have often presented a message of concern over environmental degradation of the planet and the threat nuclear weapons pose.

We know all this from government and industry whistleblowers, from first-hand accounts by ordinary people, and from official government documents and other published materials which are often unknown to the public at large and are publically or secretly released, after which they are often subject to debunking or ignored.

A good example of this are revelations around the 'mechanical' operation of UFOs. In 1989 whistleblower Bob Lazar stated that he had been working in Area 51 at Groom Lake, Nevada, on a anti-gravity propulsion system which was being back-engineered off of a captured spacecraft or collection of spacecrafts. Flying saucer propulsion was by means of anti-gravity amplification, with the power source an anti-matter generator. At the time Lazar's claims were debunked by government and skeptics, and he was officially 'canceled.' His claims remain debunked by those groups to the present day (Knapp 2023). However, elsewhere those claims have been verified, by individuals such as David Grusch. In addition, Richard Boylan in 2005 published an article entitled Classified Antigravity Aerospace Craft in the World Affairs academic journal, and in 2008 Paul A. LaViolette issued Secrets of Antigravity Propulsion: Tesla, UFOs, and Classified Aerospace Technology (Boylan 2005, LaViolette 2008).

The schism between what is known, what is real, and what is hidden or deemed secret remains. It is clear that certain people in military authority seek to keep that system in place, for reasons of so-called national security, but in fact in order to secure technologies that will give them an advantage in war and conflict, and also, perhaps, generate profit. For this reason they will take all measures to keep the secret classifications, even though the people of the world have a right to know the truth about other beings and do not care about the weaponisation of their technologies. As long as military might and money get in the way, the truth will be a hard nut to crack. It is obvious that Mussolini's UFO and all those other spacecraft subsequently secured by the United States have proven useful to its military services. Beyond that, government appears spineless in revealing the truth, suggesting there are other forces involved in maintaining the secrecy.

It could be that the Vatican (Catholic Church) which has for centuries had an interest in this matter - as evident by the role of Pope Pius XII - may have been responsible for Mussolini and other governments in lowering the veil of secrecy on anything to do with extraterrestrial and inter-dimensional beings and their technologies. This secrecy is a worldwide phenomena and there must be a reason for it. Perhaps it is also to protect non-humans living amongst us..... I will believe anything reasonable, because amongst the 'anything' is the truth, and perhaps as David Coulthart said, it is there in plain sight.

As people start to call the Grusch revelations a government false-flag operation which simply seeks to maintain the coverup, it is interesting to note that we may never get the 'truth' from that source, for the truth is simply something that both vested interests and the present scientific / realist / skeptical communities will not accept. The fact is, the reality of other dimensions, spirits, paranormal events, UFOs, extraterrestrials and spirituality may never have a quantifiable, scientific defence, despite their obvious existence (Jenkins 2017). Or, science at least, may eventually come to the party.

11. Addenda #1: Fascists on Mars (2016)

The Italian fascination with Mars and Martians during the 1920s and 1930s, spurred on by Marconi's radio experiments, is an interesting phenomena. The aforementioned account of Mussolini's interest in UFOs and extra-terrestrials is evidence of that, as is the naming of his grandchild Marzio (dedicated to Mars) in December 1937, and the reference to Martians in his speech of 21 February 1941. It was also the subject of the 100 minute long Italian comedy Fascisti su Marte (Fascists on Mars) released in cinemas during 2006. The Magenta crash may have formed part of the inspiration for this fantastical journey into the unknown.

12. Addenda #2: Above Majestic 2018

This 2018 documentary looks at the origins, history and conspiracies behind the "Majestic 12", a clandestine group of military and corporate figureheads charged with reverse-engineering extraterrestrial technology, primarily in the United States. It also comments on the extent of the NAZI UFO / Alien technology advances during the 1930s and their subsequent integration into US elite society post-WWII. Whilst the Italians collaborated with the NAZIs on this work, they are not generally referenced as an associate during this period. The film highlights the suggested outcomes of such collaboration.
